The Challenge

PVC pipe production can generate fine polymer dust during material handling, cutting and finishing. The movement of dry particles through the dust collection system can contribute to electrostatic charge accumulation on the filter media.

The customer required a pleatable filter material that could support dust collection while helping dissipate accumulated electrostatic charges. In applications where combustible dust may be present, static control is an important part of the overall dust safety assessment.

The Solution

After reviewing the application requirement, FARRLEEY Filtration recommended copper-ion blended antistatic pleatable needle-punched felt.

The conductive component is blended into the felt structure to provide antistatic performance throughout the media. The material can also be pleated for use in industrial dust filter elements.
