The Challenge
The customer used filter media in a milk powder processing application where loose fibers needed to be prevented from entering or transferring into the product.
The material supplied by the previous provider showed fiber shedding during use. The customer then tried membrane-laminated media to improve surface containment, but the resulting air permeability did not meet the process requirement.
The Solution
After reviewing the competing requirements for surface stability and airflow, FARRLEEY Filtration recommended filter media with a special surface treatment.
Instead of relying on a conventional membrane layer, the treatment stabilized the media surface while preserving the permeability required by the filtration process.
