The Challenge
The customer mainly manufactures Size 2 liquid filter bags and required polypropylene media with a 5 μm filtration rating.
Standard roll dimensions did not fully match the customer's cutting layout, creating unnecessary offcuts during bag production. The customer needed a roll format that would improve material utilization without changing the required filter media specification.
The Solution
FARRLEEY Filtration reviewed the Size 2 bag dimensions and the customer's production layout, then customized the PP filter media to a width of 1.8 m and a roll length of 200 m.
The customized width was selected to support efficient multi-lane cutting of Size 2 bag bodies, reducing avoidable edge waste during production.
